Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricardo Ramirez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hindu Kush!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez lands a head shot.


It looks like Hindu Kush has been cut.
Ramirez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kush shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ramirez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ramirez gets back to half guard.
Ramirez is looking to improve his position.
Ramirez wants to control but Kush is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kush not doing much here.
Ramirez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kush.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kush lands a nice short elbow.
Kush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ramirez's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kush sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Kush is thwarting Ramirez's attempts to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kush looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ramirez trying to control but Kush postures up.
Ramirez wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kush is working for a submission of some sort.
Ramirez controlling the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kush is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ramirez sees it coming and defends easily.
Kush wants to pass the guard but Ramirez is defending well.
Ramirez controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Kush missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Kush prevents Ramirez from improving his position.
Ramirez regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramirez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ramirez scoring with strikes but Kush is staying in there.
A nice elbow there by Ramirez.
Ramirez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ramirez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kush is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ramirez controlling from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kush is trying desperately to improve position.
Ramirez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ramirez tries to control but Kush wriggling away.
Kush really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Ramirez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hindu Kush's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kush throws a body punch but Ramirez moves out of range.
Kush on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ramirez lands the left hand.

Ramirez cracks Kush with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kush looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ramirez finish him?


Kush is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ramirez lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Kush up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Ramirez from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Kush's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricardo Ramirez!
Ricardo Ramirez retains his bantamweight title!
Ricardo Ramirez really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
