PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Bad Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turner has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Bad Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jonas Turner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bad Boy throws a looping overhand right but Turner ducks down to avoid it.
Turner listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Turner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bad Boy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Turner lands with a kick to the ribs.
Turner takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Turner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bad Boy defends it nicely.

Bad Boy shoots in but no luck this time.
A lazy left from Bad Boy finds it's target.
Turner connects with an inside leg kick.
Bad Boy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Turner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bad Boy tries to avoid it but Turner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bad Boy to the ground. Bad Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Turner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bad Boy tries to avoid it but Turner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bad Boy to the ground. Bad Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Joe Bad Boy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Turner.
Turner fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bad Boy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Turner looks to land a combination. Bad Boy sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Turner throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Bad Boy is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turner catches Bad Boy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Turner throws a head kick that Bad Boy semi-blocks.

Bad Boy tries to clinch up but Turner circles away and keeps his distance.

Turner has Bad Boy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Turner pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bad Boy tumbling to the mat - Turner dives into Bad Boy's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Bad Boy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bad Boy tries to get out of the position.
Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bad Boy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bad Boy is pulling down on Turner's head. It's preventing any offense from Turner, at least for the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonas Turner dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Joe Bad Boy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bad Boy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Turner.

Turner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bad Boy to the mat! Bad Boy manages to get full guard.

Bad Boy tries for a takedown but Turner manages to get underhooks.

Turner is trying to trip Bad Boy. He has hold of a leg but Bad Boy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Turner persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Turner's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bad Boy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turner's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bad Boy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bad Boy is trying to break the clinch but Turner is controlling him.

Turner has clasped his hands together around Bad Boy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
