Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ignazio Iachetti!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iachetti changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dash looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dash manages to get back to half guard.
Iachetti is trying to control the action in half guard but Dash is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Iachetti is thwarting Dash's attempts to control the position.
Iachetti seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Iachetti has eaten all the pies!
Dash wants to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dash closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Iachetti did well to prevent Dash getting side control.
Dash is taking a breather. Iachetti says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dash wants to pass to mount but Iachetti is defending the position.

Dash escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dash is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Iachetti's half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dash works his foot free and advances to mount.
Iachetti slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Well, if Dash is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dash will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dash has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Iachetti actively working from the bottom here.
Dash looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dash is pressing down on Iachetti's thigh, looking to free his foot. Iachetti is holding on for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Dash.

Dash closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dash is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Iachetti is just riding it out for now. Dash eventually gives up the hold.

Dash shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dash is trying to stick to Iachetti's back but Iachetti is turning into Dash. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dash's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Iachetti.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Iachetti enables Dash to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Iachetti manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dash gets to his feet. Iachetti looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Iachetti lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like David Dash has been cut.

Dash drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dash works to advance to full mount. Iachetti defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Dash wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Iachetti is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ignazio Iachetti.

Dash gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dash is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David Dash overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dash shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dash was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because David Dash wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Dash is pushing down on Iachetti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Iachetti is fighting to maintain full guard but Dash has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dash maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Iachetti could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dash has cracked it and Iachetti is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dash!
