Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hurley Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Senses Fail-Coming Up Short . Sharp is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: IZ - Hawaii '78. Hurley Rodriguez had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Terry Sharp will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws a nice looking combination but Sharp bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sharp tries to clinch there but Rodriguez circles away.
Sharp connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rodriguez. Rodriguez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Rodriguez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sharp tries to avoid it but Rodriguez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sharp to the ground. Sharp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sharp takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rodriguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sharp pinned against the cage. Sharp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rodriguez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sharp was covering up waiting for the punch and Rodriguez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sharp is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodriguez defends well.
Sharp has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sharp swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rodriguez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sharp manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rodriguez has Sharp in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hurley Rodriguez will probably get the nod.

Well Sharp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
