Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Kuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanbu Uechi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuma comes to the cage accompanied by Zetsubou Billy. Kanbu Uechi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Kuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanbu Uechi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uechi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Uechi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Uechi blocks a head kick by Kuma.

Uechi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kuma on his heels. He'll look to pass Kuma's guard now, I'm sure.
Uechi looks gassed!

Uechi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kuma manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Uechi has Kuma in his guard.
Kuma postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kuma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uechi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Uechi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kuma defends well.
Kuma controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kuma postures up in Uechi's guard and throws a big left but Uechi blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryo Kuma.

Kuma manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kuma tries to clinch up but Uechi circles away and keeps his distance.
Uechi blocks a head kick by Kuma.
Ryo Kuma is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Uechi shoots in looking for a takedown but Kuma manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Uechi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kuma throws a right and a left that Uechi avoids nicely.
Uechi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kuma as he avoids it easily.
Ryo Kuma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kanbu Uechi.
A head kick from Kuma lands but Uechi takes it in his stride.
Kuma thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Uechi if he has to take too many more of those.

Kuma lands a head kick. Uechi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Uechi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kuma to the mat! Kuma manages to get full guard.

Uechi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kuma is pushing Uechi's head away, looking to escape. Uechi manages to hold on to the position though.
Kuma knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Uechi on the ground.
Uechi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kuma keeps working.

Uechi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kuma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Uechi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kuma has escaped the position, nice work there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Uechi wants to control but Kuma is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kanbu Uechi will probably get the nod.

Kuma throws a sloppy head kick and Uechi moves out of range easily.
Ryo Kuma is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kuma swinging wildly here.
Kuma shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Uechi eats them both and turns towards Kuma to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Kuma throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kuma connects with a solid leg kick.
Uechi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kuma can pounce on him.
Kuma throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Uechi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Uechi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kuma doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Uechi.

Uechi is looking for a kimura but Kuma is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Uechi to get the leverage.

Kuma looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uechi wants to pass to mount but Kuma is defending the position.
Uechi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kuma is trying to stand up here but Uechi is controlling him well.

Uechi is looking for a kimura but Kuma is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Uechi to get the leverage.

Uechi shoots in looking for a takedown. Kuma tries to sprawl out of it but Uechi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kuma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kuma throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uechi.

Kuma will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Uechi maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kuma could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Uechi has cracked it and Kuma is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Uechi!
