The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giacomucci dives in and grabs Falcon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Falcon pushes down on Giacomucci's head and hops out.
Falcon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nice takedown defense from Falcon. No joy for Giacomucci on that attempt.
Giacomucci shoots in for a double leg but Falcon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Captain Falcon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giuseppe Giacomucci.

Falcon throws a right hand that Giacomucci ducks under and follows up with a left that Giacomucci also avoids with ease.

That kick from Falcon tenderised Giacomucci's leg. Giacomucci is trying to keep his angry face on.
Falcon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Giacomucci is trying desperately to land a takedown but Falcon is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Giacomucci.

Giacomucci shoots in but Falcon avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Giacomucci has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Falcon.
Giacomucci stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Falcon.

Falcon feints and then cracks Giacomucci's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Giacomucci down.

Falcon is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Falcon connects with a nice cross there... Giacomucci is looking wobbly and Falcon recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Giacomucci to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Falcon jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
