PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Roche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dusty Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dusty Rhodes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Roche. Roche obviously looking to wear him down.
Dusty Rhodes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rhodes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Roche lands a front kick.
Roche scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rhodes is working Roche over with some ground and pound from side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rhodes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Rhodes cracks Roche with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rhodes is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rhodes extends the arm and Roche is forced to tap!
