PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anupo Anubis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lauritz Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jensen has chosen Limp Bizkit - My Way as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anupo Anubis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lauritz Jensen!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jensen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Anubis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anubis is looking for a triangle but Jensen pushes his legs off easily.
Jensen controlling from the top position.
Anubis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jensen is one step ahead there.
Jensen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anubis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Anubis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jensen defends it easily.
Jensen is pushing down on Anubis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Anubis is fighting to maintain full guard but Jensen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jensen is keen to just control but Anubis is a slippery customer.
Jensen wants to free his trapped foot but Anubis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jensen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Anubis!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jensen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anubis is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Jensen has taken his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anubis tries to roll but Jensen sticks to his back.
Anubis looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Jensen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jensen is persistently looking for the submission but Anubis is defending it well.

A lull in the action here.

Anubis is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Jensen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Anubis trying to control the action but Jensen just sinks the hooks in.
Anubis tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lauritz Jensen dominated that round.
That's time! Anubis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Anubis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jensen throws out the jab.

Anubis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Jensen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Anubis tries for a kimura but Jensen is defending well.

Anubis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jensen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jensen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lauritz Jensen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Anubis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anubis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Anubis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jensen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Anubis's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Jensen is trying to get back to full guard.
Anubis works his way into side control.
Jensen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jensen uses his free foot to push down on Anubis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anubis.
Jensen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jensen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anubis is looking to escape.
Jensen fails to take his opponent's back.

Anubis wants to control but Jensen is having none of it.
Jensen fails to move to back control.
Jensen wants to control the pace but Anubis is squirming around nicely.

Jensen goes for an armbar but Anubis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Anubis.
Jensen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jensen wants to take a breather but Anubis is having none of it.

Jensen is keen to just control but Anubis is a slippery customer.

Lauritz Jensen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Anubis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jensen sprawls well initially but Anubis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anubis is thwarting Jensen's attempts to control the position.
Jensen wants to get back to full guard.
Anubis wants to pass to mount but Jensen is defending the position.
Anubis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Jensen wants to improve his position but Anubis is controlling well.

Anubis is looking for a kimura but Jensen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anubis to get the leverage.

Jensen is staying active underneath Anubis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Anubis tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Jensen won't allow Anubis to pass to mount.

Anubis is looking for a kimura here.
Jensen is looking for a sweep. Anubis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jensen is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Jensen is trying to control but can't.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Anubis lands a nice short elbow.
Anubis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Anubis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Anupo Anubis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jensen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Lauritz Jensen misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
