The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The Great connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Young momentarily.


It looks like Mitchael Young has been cut.
Young shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Great sprawls well. The Great wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Young gets slowly back to his feet.
Young takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Young shoots in looking for a takedown. The Great tries to sprawl out of it but Young keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Great manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chris The Great has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitchael Young.

The Great has control of Young's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Young regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The Great is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Young has escaped the position, nice work there.

The Great is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Young knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Young is not content to let The Great control the position.

and The Great counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Mitchael Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
