Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corey Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Corey Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jesse James!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
James looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Parker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Parker gets a takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parker connects with a nice short shot to James's temple.
James is looking to control Parker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can James avoid being mounted?
Parker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Parker trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.
James wants to get back to full guard.

James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Parker controlling the action here.

Corey Parker has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
James throws a right and a left that both miss.
James looks to land a combination. Parker sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker content to control rather than advance.

Parker stands up and beckons James to join him on the feet.

Parker is trying hard to land a takedown here. James sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Parker or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.
Parker has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker throws a body punch but James moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Parker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

James lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Corey Parker has been cut.
James lands a right hook to the body.
James jabs Parker to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Parker moves into the clinch successfully.

Parker jumps into guard, dragging James to the mat.
James postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
James tries to circle away but Parker has him pinned against the cage.

Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Parker moves out of range of the strikes.
James leaves Parker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Parker tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Parker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Parker.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Parker cracks a nice hook into James's ribs.
Parker buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Parker lands a nice looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parker goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Parker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Parker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Parker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, James has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Parker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but James sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Corey Parker's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Parker slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Parker feints and as James raises his hands in defense, Parker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Parker trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Parker controls the pace.
Parker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Parker wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
Parker scoring with some ground and pound.
James is breathing heavily.

James manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Parker shoots in but James avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James stuffs the takedown.

James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker advances position into side control!
Parker moves into full mount!
James is looking to improve his position but Parker isn't that keen on the idea.
Parker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

James really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Parker lands with some vicious ground and pound - can James hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parker breaks from James's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Parker looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Parker scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish James?
James can't escape the position.
Parker lands a heavy elbow.
Parker controlling the position easily from mount.
Parker lands a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James is bucking up trying to escape but Parker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Parker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Parker looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James is squirming around, avoiding Parker's attempts to control the action.
Parker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A nice elbow there by Parker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jesse James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Parker.
Parker throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
James keeps the fight on the outside.
James has a takedown stuffed.
Parker tries to clinch but James moves out of range.
Parker shoots in looking for a takedown but James manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Parker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parker.
James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Parker manages to avoid it.
A combination from Parker does no damage.

Parker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Parker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that James can do to turn this around?

James strikes from the bottom but Parker uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Parker wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working.

Parker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Parker stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Corey Parker is winning the standup battle so far.
James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Parker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Corey Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Parker is in close to James's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Parker stands up and waves to James to follow him.

Parker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging James to the ground. Parker is now in James's guard.
Parker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Parker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Corey Parker.
Parker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Parker dives in and scores a takedown into James's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Parker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
