Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mr Meogy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robson Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mr Meogy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robson Castro!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meogy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Meogy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Castro is out of range.
Castro rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meogy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Robson Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro throws a head kick but Meogy moves out of range.
Castro lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Castro scores with a nice right hand.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Meogy.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Castro tries to improve position but can't.
Meogy is trying to get an arm triangle but Castro is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meogy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Meogy wants to work for an arm triangle but Castro is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castro tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Castro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Meogy pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Castro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Meogy is trying to work for a kimura but Castro is defending well.

Meogy is looking for a kimura but Castro is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Meogy to get the leverage.

Meogy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Castro defends it well.

Meogy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Castro is just riding it out for now. Meogy eventually gives up the hold.
Castro is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mr Meogy will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Meogy throws a body punch but Castro moves out of range.

so Meogy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Meogy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Castro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meogy defends well.
Meogy controls from within his opponent's guard.
Meogy wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.

Meogy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meogy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Castro not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mr Meogy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Meogy drops back looking for a leg! Castro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Castro manages to kick Meogy off! Meogy jumps back into Castro's guard.
Castro looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Meogy passes into side control.
Castro tries to bench press Meogy off him but Meogy keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meogy has an Americana. Castro didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Meogy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Meogy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mr Meogy!
