Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Steinberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Safdar Al Razi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Steinberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Safdar Al Razi!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steinberg throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Al Razi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Steinberg throws a shot from downtown. Al Razi moves away and avoids it.
Steinberg blocks a head kick by Al Razi.
Steinberg slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Al Razi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steinberg.
Al Razi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Steinberg avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Steinberg throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Al Razi moves in looking to clinch but Steinberg pushes him off.
Al Razi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steinberg.
Steinberg ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Steinberg misses with a straight right.
Steinberg avoids the head kick by Al Razi.
Al Razi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steinberg.
Al Razi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Steinberg moves into range and connects with a jab.

Al Razi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steinberg did well to prevent Al Razi getting side control.

Al Razi seems to be working for a kimura but Steinberg defends the submission attempt.

Al Razi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Al Razi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Steinberg is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Al Razi, into his guard.
Steinberg has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Steinberg avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Steinberg slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Al Razi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steinberg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Steinberg tries to free his leg and advance position but Al Razi is retaining full guard.

Al Razi is looking for a triangle but Steinberg pushes his legs off easily.

Al Razi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Steinberg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Steinberg got a little sloppy there for a moment and Al Razi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steinberg has managed to get both his arms back between Al Razi's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Steinberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Al Razi on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Al Razi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Safdar Al Razi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Steinberg jabs Al Razi to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Steinberg throws a low kick but it's checked well by Al Razi.

Steinberg looks to throw the jab but Al Razi is out of range.

Al Razi closes the distance and clinches up with Steinberg, looking for a takedown. Al Razi pushes Steinberg against the cage but Steinberg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Frank Steinberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Al Razi scores with a head kick. Steinberg tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Steinberg throws a shot from downtown. Al Razi moves away and avoids it.
Steinberg connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Safdar Al Razi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Al Razi slips under a jab.
Al Razi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Steinberg manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Al Razi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Al Razi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Al Razi there as he acknowledges the shot.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
