Karl Agathon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agathon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with garcia but garcia pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Agathon looks for a takedown but garcia sprawls well.

val garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Agathon.
Agathon throws a right and a left that garcia avoids nicely.

Agathon shoots in looking for a takedown. garcia tries to sprawl out of it but Agathon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. garcia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
I really don't envy Agathon right now.

Agathon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Agathon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Agathon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee asks garcia politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. garcia prefers to stall for the moment though.
