Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock has chosen The World most Dangerous Man as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ken Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor fails with an attempt to clinch.

Taylor closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shamrock quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Shamrock is refusing to be controlled, as Taylor sits in half guard.
Shamrock desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Taylor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shamrock's head.
Taylor drops an elbow to the side of Shamrock's head.
Taylor is thwarting Shamrock's attempts to control the position.
Taylor is keen to just control but Shamrock is a slippery customer.
Shamrock wants to control but Taylor is keeping busy.
Shamrock is staying active underneath Taylor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Taylor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Shamrock wants to clinch.
Taylor misses with a series of wild punches.
Taylor has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shamrock finds it's way round the side to connect with Taylor's head.


It looks like Luke Taylor has been cut.
Taylor throws an overhand right that lands on Shamrock's shoulder, as Shamrock tries to avoid the shot.
Taylor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Shamrock counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Taylor keeping moving, preventing Shamrock from controlling successfully.
Shamrock is pushing down on Taylor's leg trying to pass to half guard. Taylor is fighting to maintain full guard but Shamrock has managed to sneak the leg through.

Taylor is trying to maintain the position but Shamrock is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shamrock is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Taylor!
Shamrock looking to control and managing it successfully.
Taylor is trying desperately to improve position.
Shamrock trying to control but Taylor is having none of it.
Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Shamrock has hold of Taylor's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Taylor manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shamrock jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Taylor is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Taylor and Shamrock has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Shamrock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working.
Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Shamrock's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Taylor flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Taylor wants to improve his position but Shamrock is controlling well.
Shamrock trying to control the action but Taylor is working from the bottom.
Taylor tries to get to full guard but Shamrock has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ken Shamrock will probably get the nod.

Taylor avoids the head kick by Shamrock.

Shamrock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shamrock lands in his opponent's guard.

Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shamrock passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shamrock working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shamrock tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shamrock has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Taylor is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Shamrock is looking to take a break and control but Taylor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor prevents Shamrock from moving into mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Taylor tries to get to full guard but Shamrock has control of the leg.
Shamrock is taking a breather. Taylor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Taylor is looking for a sweep. Shamrock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Shamrock seems to be working for a kimura but Taylor defends the submission attempt.
Taylor trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Taylor is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shamrock pulls his head out easily.

Shamrock stands up out of the half guard.

Shamrock closes the distance and pushes Taylor back into the cage.

Shamrock tightens his grip and picks Taylor up, before dumping him to the ground. Taylor manages to land in guard.
Shamrock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ken Shamrock has got the better of the ground game so far.

Taylor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Taylor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shamrock defends it easily.
Taylor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Taylor can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shamrock controls the pace.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taylor has a closed guard, preventing Shamrock from standing up.
Taylor looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Shamrock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Shamrock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Taylor, pushing him back against the cage.
Taylor is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shamrock to keep the fight standing.
Taylor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shamrock pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Taylor tries to pull guard but Shamrock forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shamrock manages to break the clinch.

Shamrock drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Taylor looks to clinch

and Shamrock counters by moving into the clinch.

Shamrock gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shamrock decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Shamrock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shamrock looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taylor!
Taylor gets back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shamrock is controlling the pace.

Shamrock is working for a kimura but Taylor is defending it quite comfortably.
Shamrock is looking to advance position but Taylor won't allow it.

Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shamrock is working away from the top position though.
Shamrock wants to get back to his feet.
Shamrock trying to control the action but Taylor is working from the bottom.

Shamrock wants to work for an arm triangle but Taylor is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Taylor is looking to improve his position.
Shamrock trying to control from Taylor's half guard. Taylor has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Taylor is working an open guard so Shamrock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Taylor drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shamrock is trying to control the position but Taylor postures up.
Taylor passes Shamrock's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Luke Taylor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ken Shamrock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Taylor not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ken Shamrock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shamrock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Ken Shamrock was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
