Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Liddell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bring Me Down (Swollen Mix Feat. Saigon) . Johnson has chosen Psycho - 50 Cent as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randall Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnson.

Liddell bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Johnson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Johnson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Liddell because Johnson loaded up on that one.
Johnson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnson wants to control the pace but Liddell is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Liddell is now in Johnson's guard. A big mistake from Johnson there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randall Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Johnson won't allow Liddell to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Johnson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Liddell regains guard.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddell is retaining full guard.

Johnson is keen to just control but Liddell is a slippery customer.

Randall Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Liddell misses with a hook.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
A combination from Liddell does no damage.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Liddell is avoiding it.
A jab from Liddell finds it's way through Johnson's defenses.
A left and a right from Liddell both land. Nice combination.


Johnson is rocked!
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Liddell tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liddell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Liddell finish him?
Liddell throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Liddell lands a beautiful left hook that drops Johnson. Johnson tries to recover but Liddell is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Johnson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyler Liddell!
