The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Darnielle was well out of range. Poor timing from Lai.

Lai instigates a clinch.
Darnielle jumps guard but Lai turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Darnielle misses with an elbow strike.
Lai prevents Darnielle from breaking the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Darnielle just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lai's brow.
Darnielle fails to pull guard.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Darnielle lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lai backwards.
Lai on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Darnielle's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Darnielle is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lai to keep the fight standing.
