PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damn Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sabaton- Metal machine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith rushes Hardy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hardy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hardy wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hardy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hardy stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hardy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.
Hardy has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
