Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George St pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mathers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Anthem of Kings. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mathers throws a lazy head kick
and St pierre counters with a lovely shot to the body.
St pierre scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mathers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
St pierre looks to land a combination but Mathers avoids it well.

Mathers fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt St pierre.
Mathers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mathers wants it to stay on the feet.

St pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
St pierre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mathers's head backwards.

St pierre throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mathers.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

St pierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
St pierre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mathers is looking to escape.

St pierre is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by St pierre!
