Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ron Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Pacquiao!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy looks to land a combination but Pacquiao avoids it well.
Pacquiao misses with a body shot.

Murphy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pacquiao misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Murphy is trying to work for a kimura but Pacquiao is defending well.
Pacquiao is trying to control but Murphy manages to pass to mount!
Pacquiao tries to lock up and control but Murphy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Murphy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pacquiao is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Murphy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pacquiao is on top in guard.

Murphy has his foot on Pacquiao's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pacquiao works his way back into a safe position though.

Pacquiao thows a big elbow that misses.
Murphy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pacquiao throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Pacquiao is pressing down on Murphy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Pacquiao gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Murphy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pacquiao puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Pacquiao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murphy is pressing down on Pacquiao's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Pacquiao lands a nice hook to Murphy's body. Murphy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
No luck for Murphy with that takedown attempt.
Pacquiao fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Murphy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pacquiao feints and as Murphy raises his hands in defense, Pacquiao changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Murphy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pacquiao has picked Murphy up and slammed him! Murphy can't keep hold of the triangle and Pacquiao manages to pass to side control!
Murphy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pacquiao wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pacquiao throwing shots but Murphy is blocking nicely.
Murphy is trying to control but Pacquiao manages to pass to mount!
Murphy can't escape the position.
Pacquiao with shots to the head and body - Murphy looks very uncomfortable down there.

Murphy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Pacquiao wants to control from the top but Murphy keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close second round but Manny Pacquiao will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Pacquiao takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Pacquiao connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Pacquiao counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Murphy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pacquiao trying to control the position from guard on top but Murphy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Murphy had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pacquiao is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Murphy Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pacquiao's back instead.

And that's the end of the fight!
Manny Pacquiao comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pacquiao has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
