Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hachiro Matsui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callahan comes to the cage accompanied by Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hachiro Matsui!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsui lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Callahan at a distance.
Matsui tries to clinch but Callahan moves out of range.
Matsui throws the left hand but Callahan avoids the punch easily.
Matsui tries to clinch up.

Callahan closes the distance and clinches.
Matsui has a couple of punches blocked by Callahan.
Callahan scores with an uppercut up the middle.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Matsui.
Callahan jumps guard but Matsui stands there with Callahan around his waist. Callahan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Matsui tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Callahan's elbow.
Matsui struggles to land a body shot inside as Callahan controls his hands.
Matsui misses with some punches.
Callahan stalling.
Matsui lands a shoulder strike.
Matsui lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Matsui swings wildly with an uppercut but Callahan uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Callahan clinches up with Matsui and pushes him back against the cage.
Matsui with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Callahan is looking to control Matsui's arms but Matsui gets an underhook and turns him. Now Callahan has his back to the cage.
Matsui throws a punch but it's blocked by Callahan.
Matsui tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Callahan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Callahan tries to break free but Matsui pushes him back against the cage.
Callahan wants to stall.

Matsui lands an uppercut.
Matsui trying to land knees to the body.
Matsui digs a right hand underneath Callahan's ribcage. Callahan let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Callahan prevents a body shot from Matsui.
Callahan tries to throw a body punch but Matsui avoids it by throwing Callahan back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Matsui fails to land.
Callahan can't find room to land a body shot as Matsui controls the action.
Callahan fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Callahan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Matsui lands a left hand that snaps the head of Callahan backwards.
Matsui tries a body shot but Callahan blocks it.
Callahan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Matsui's elbow.

Callahan pulls guard effortlessly.
Callahan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Callahan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Matsui is controlling him.

Callahan wants to improve his position but instead Matsui has moved into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Matsui is keen to just control but Callahan is a slippery customer.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matsui working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Callahan's thigh. Callahan counters though and makes it back to full guard.

A close round but Hachiro Matsui will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Matsui moves into range and connects with a jab.
Callahan misses with a hook.
Callahan keeps the fight on the outside.

Callahan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Matsui is trying to stand back up but Callahan is controlling him

Callahan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Callahan misses with a head shot. Matsui uses the momentum to regain guard.
Callahan is working Matsui over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Matsui lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Callahan!
Callahan is just holding on here. Matsui manages to take his back.
Matsui connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Callahan to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Callahan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Matsui's guard. Nice work there by Callahan.

Matsui tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Matsui lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Callahan!

It looks like Matsui is going to stand back up.
Matsui is keen to just control but Callahan is a slippery customer.
Matsui misses with a head shot. Callahan uses the momentum to regain guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A cross from Matsui lands.
Callahan circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circling - Callahan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Callahan swats away the attempt to clinch by Matsui.
Callahan avoids the body shot from Matsui.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Callahan, as that shot connected.
Matsui slips under a jab from Callahan.
Matsui throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Matsui clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Callahan misses with a punch on the inside.
Matsui misses with the head strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Callahan blocks an uppercut.
Callahan working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Callahan wants to break free but Matsui has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Hachiro Matsui will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Matsui cracks Callahan with a good jab.
Matsui attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Matsui darts in trying to clinch
and Callahan counters with a stiff right hand.

Matsui takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Callahan dodges the punch combination from Matsui.
Matsui stuffs the takedown attempt from Callahan. Callahan gets slowly back to his feet.
Matsui throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The fight stays on the outside here - Matsui looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Matsui on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Hachiro Matsui seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Matsui doesn't manage to clinch there - Callahan circles away.
Matsui tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Callahan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hachiro Matsui is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Callahan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Matsui shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Matsui throws a lazy right hand but Callahan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Callahan scores with a three punch combo!


Matsui is rocked!
Matsui is aggressively charging in as Callahan backs up avoiding any damage. Callahan tosses out a jab and Matsui runs right into it face first! Matsui is out cold! Callahan dropped down on all fours and is barking in Matsui's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thomas Callahan!
Thomas Callahan decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
