Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ludo Kopper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Madison Grant!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kopper circles away.
Grant fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kopper with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Kopper lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Madison Grant has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That has opened up Madison Grant's cut even more.
Grant tries to clinch up but Kopper circles away and keeps his distance.
Grant shoots in for a takedown but Kopper shows good takedown defense.
Ludo Kopper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Madison Grant.
Kopper lands with a shot to the body.
Grant fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Grant looks gassed!

Kopper throws out a powerful jab.
Grant is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kopper closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grant fails to pull guard.
Grant is working for takedown but Kopper is calmly controlling the position for now.
Grant has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kopper after a bit of a struggle.
Grant is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kopper can't break the clinch.
Grant keeps control of Kopper as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Grant is trying to drag Kopper to the mat but Kopper just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Grant gets a trip takedown into half guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kopper is not content to let Grant control the position.
Grant missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Grant throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Grant is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kopper sees it coming and defends easily.
Kopper keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Grant is looking to take a break and control but Kopper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Grant moves nicely into side control.

Grant decides to stand back up. Grant steps back and let's Kopper get back to his feet.
Grant swings for the body but Kopper moves out of range.
Ludo Kopper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kopper has Grant up against the cage in a clinch.
Kopper looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Grant is trying to pull guard but Kopper has him pressed against the cage.
Grant fails to pull guard.
Grant tries for a takedown but Kopper manages to get underhooks.

Grant jumps guard but Kopper stands there with Grant around his waist. Grant gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Grant manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kopper would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Grant has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Grant looking for a sweep. Not yet Grant, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Madison Grant's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kopper misses with an uppercut. Grant saw that one coming.
Grant shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kopper sprawls well. Kopper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grant gets slowly back to his feet.

Kopper closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kopper swings wildly with an uppercut but Grant uses good head movement to avoid it.
Grant drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Grant is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ludo Kopper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Madison Grant.

Grant wants to take the fight to the mat but Kopper manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Grant drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Grant breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Grant takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


The cut above Madison Grant's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kopper swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Grant.


Madison Grant's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kopper takes the fight into the clinch.
Grant fails to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grant tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kopper smiles and moves away.

Grant has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kopper decides to pull guard.
Grant is looking to work some ground and pound but Kopper has wrist control.

Grant drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kopper looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kopper looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kopper!

Grant gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Grant wants to control but Kopper is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Grant wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Grant is trying to maintain the position but Kopper is very close to passing his half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Madison Grant hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kopper catches Grant with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Madison Grant's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ludo Kopper!
