PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damon Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Paxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierce comes into the arena with Eve 6 - Inside Out blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Paxton's choice of entrance music: Advance Australia Fair. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paxton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pierce counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Paxton misses with a hook. Pierce ducked under it nicely.

Paxton throws a hook but Pierce avoids it easily.
Paxton loads up on a big right hand but Pierce slips the punch.
Billy Paxton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paxton throws a nice looking combination but Pierce bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Paxton throws the left hand but Pierce avoids the punch easily.
Paxton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pierce.

and Pierce counters with a single leg into guard. Paxton didn't expect that.
Pierce passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Pierce working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Paxton is trying to work for a sweep but Pierce has mounted him!

Pierce is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Paxton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Paxton is still in real trouble! Can Pierce finish him?

Pierce is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Paxton to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Paxton shrugs it off.

Pierce takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Pierce can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Paxton is looking to escape.

Pierce is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Paxton is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Paxton flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Pierce anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Paxton and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Pierce slips an arm under Paxton chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Pierce has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Pierce is squeezing on Paxton like an anaconda would it's prey. Paxton fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
