Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Choy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Eddie Choy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Choy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jones Walker!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker misses the shot to the body.

Walker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Walker is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Choy tries to get to full guard but Walker has control of the leg.
Walker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Choy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Choy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Walker is trying to control the action in half guard but Choy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Walker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Choy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Choy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Choy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Walker is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Choy is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Walker has managed to free his arm - good work.

You get the feeling that Walker really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Choy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Walker turns into him and now he's in Choy's guard.
Walker wants to control from the top but Choy keeps moving.
Walker throws a strike but Choy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Walker throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.
Walker stays in close to Choy's body and controls the position.
Choy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Walker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Walker showed some decent athleticism there.
Walker is looking to take a break and control but Choy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Walker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Choy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Walker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Walker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Choy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
