Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Redman - Da goodness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Frank Smith has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akekae Pokaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Smith!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smith.

Pokaku scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Smith taking some punishment here, with Pokaku in his half guard.
Pokaku sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smith defending well though.
Pokaku slips a nice elbow through Smith's hands, connecting with Smith's forehead.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith tries to roll over but Pokaku keeps him under control.

Pokaku thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pokaku is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.
Pokaku prevents Smith from improving his position.

Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Smith looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Smith is staying active underneath Pokaku, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pokaku is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.
Smith is not content to let Pokaku control the position.
Smith is trying to get back to full guard.
Pokaku landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith has his hands on Pokaku's head, controlling the position.
Smith lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Pokaku looking to pass the guard.
Pokaku's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pokaku is one step ahead there.
Pokaku trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pokaku scoring with punches to the head and body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Smith unloads with some shots from mount but Pokaku bucks and avoids them well.
Smith content just to control the position here.
Pokaku really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Smith cracks Pokaku with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pokaku can't escape the position.
Pokaku is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.
Smith with a couple of short strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pokaku tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pokaku just holding on.
Pokaku is looking to get to half guard.
Pokaku is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A nice elbow there by Smith.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Smith will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pokaku's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Smith moves out of range of the leg kick from Pokaku.
Smith stuffs the takedown.
Pokaku slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Pokaku shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Smith counter with a right hand.
Smith avoids the head kick by Pokaku.

Smith drops Pokaku with a nice combination! Smith dives into Pokaku's guard, looking to finish!


Pokaku is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith wants to control from the top but Pokaku keeps moving.
Oh Pokaku is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith stands and throws Pokaku's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A control attempt from Pokaku but he's now mounted!
Pokaku tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
Frank Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
Smith scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Smith cracks Pokaku with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Smith!
