Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Rood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Lakovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rood comes into the arena with - blaring out of the sound system. Sasha Lakovic has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Rood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sasha Lakovic!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rood attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Rood swings for the body but Lakovic moves out of range.
A jab from Rood does it's job there.
Rood connects with a nice looking jab.
Lakovic connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lakovic throws a head kick but Rood moves out of range.
Rood lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Sasha Lakovic has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lakovic avoids the body shot from Rood.
Lakovic tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rood is able to avoid easily.
Lakovic throws a wild body kick that Rood sees coming a mile off.
Horrible takedown by Lakovic or perhaps it was just good defense by Rood which made him look bad.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lakovic. Rood shrugs it off though.
Lakovic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rood manages to avoid it.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Lakovic.
Lakovic avoids the head kick by Rood.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lakovic, right into the meat.
Rood moves forwards but Lakovic connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rood throws a head kick that misses.

Lakovic throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

The fighters circling - Rood throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lakovic swings for the body but Rood moves out of range.
Lakovic misses with a kick to the body.
A thudding body kick lands there by Lakovic!
Lakovic looks to land a right hand but Rood moved out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rood connects with a looping right hand.
Lakovic uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rood.
Lakovic walks into a left hand.
A low kick from Rood is predictable there
and Lakovic counters with a slapping leg kick.

Rood throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lakovic.
Rood misses with a left hand
and Lakovic counters with a one-two to the body.
Lakovic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rood stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Brad Rood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rood rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lakovic counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rood's knee momentarily.
Lakovic motions for Rood to come forward. Lakovic throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lakovic on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A telegraphed right hand from Rood misses the target.
Lakovic checks the leg kick.
Rood keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Rood throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rood staying out of range there.
Rood fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lakovic is out of range.
Rood looks to land a combination but Lakovic avoids it well.
Rood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rood tries a head kick but it misses.
Rood feints and then cracks Lakovic's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lakovic down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rood lands a nice looking body kick.
Rood scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lakovic lands with an uppercut that bounces Rood off the cage and back into range.

and Rood counters with a nice uppercut.
A slow jab from Rood misses its intended target.
Rood tests Lakovic's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rood tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Rood sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Rood throws a body punch but Lakovic moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lakovic manages to avoid it.
Lakovic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lakovic attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Lakovic needs to keep his hands up - Rood had a free shot at his head there.

Rood gets caught flat footed, as Lakovic shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lakovic takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sloppy strikes from Lakovic. Those never looked like landing.

Lakovic keeps Rood at a distance using the push kick.
Lakovic shoots in for a takedown but Rood shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Lakovic sizes up Rood with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Lakovic throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lakovic misses with an uppercut. Rood saw that one coming.
Lakovic has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Lakovic throws an overhand right that lands on Rood's shoulder, as Rood tries to avoid the shot.
No joy there for Rood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rood looks to land a right hand but Lakovic moved out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Rood 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Rood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rood jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice sprawl there from Rood as Lakovic shoots in.
Brad Rood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sasha Lakovic.
Rood throws a head kick that misses.
Lakovic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rood. Rood circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Lakovic feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rood's calf.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lakovic crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rood - the referee stops the clock and Lakovic gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rood. Lakovic manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Rood throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lakovic takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rood is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Rood throws a low kick, looking for Lakovic's leg but Lakovic calmly moves out of range.
Rood throws the kick towards the body but Lakovic avoids it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lakovic.
Rood chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sasha Lakovic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rood tries to work over Lakovic's front leg with a kick but Lakovic checks it.
Brad Rood is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Sasha Lakovic.
