Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Bartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Weis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Bartman could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Steven Weis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Bartman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steven Weis!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bartman as he jumps to the side.
No joy there for Bartman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Weis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nice defenses there by Weis.
Bartman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Weis.

Bartman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bartman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bartman cracks Weis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Weis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Weis postures up.
Bartman will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Weis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bartman, up you get!
Bartman throws a sloppy head kick and Weis moves out of range easily.

Bartman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bartman is on top in guard.

Weis can't keep his opponent in guard - Bartman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Weis is looking to control Bartman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Weis avoid being mounted?

Bartman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Bartman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Weis's guard. Nice work there by Bartman.

Weis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bartman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bartman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Weis looking for a guillotine here but Bartman defends easily.
Weis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Weis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bartman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Weis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bartman's back instead.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Bartman will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Bartman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Weis's guard.
Steve Bartman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bartman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Weis is looking to sweep but instead, Bartman has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Bartman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Weis manages to get to full guard.

Bartman postures up and lands a big shot to Weis's brow.
Bartman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Weis's head.

Bartman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bartman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Weis tries to improve position but can't.
Weis takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Weis takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Bartman lands some shots froms side control.
Bartman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Weis is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Bartman dominated that second round.
That's time! Bartman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Weis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bartman.
Weis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weis wants to improve his position but Bartman is controlling well.
Bartman uses his free foot to push down on Weis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Weis.
Weis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Weis's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Weis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Weis is still in real trouble! Can Bartman finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bartman landing strikes from the mount and Weis is in trouble!
Weis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bartman loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Weis scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bartman land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bartman stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Bartman!
