Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mickey Mulligan!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulligan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Mulligan throws a series of punches but Dizdar moves out of range.
Nice combo by Mulligan! Oh, that's hurt him - Dizdar falls to the canvas and Mulligan follows him into side control.

It looks like Ivan Dizdar has been cut.
Dizdar looks to move to half guard but instead Mulligan has passed into mount! Damn!

Mulligan stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Dizdar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mulligan sprawls well initially but Dizdar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dizdar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mulligan tries to hold on but Dizdar pushes him away.

Mulligan wants to control but Dizdar is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mulligan avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dizdar.

Dizdar lands a big shot there that rocks Mulligan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Mulligan bucks Dizdar off and manages to get back to his feet!
Mickey Mulligan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mulligan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mulligan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mulligan.
Dizdar fails with a takedown attempt.
Mulligan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mulligan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dizdar closes the distance and clinches up with Mulligan, looking for a takedown. Dizdar pushes Mulligan against the cage but Mulligan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dizdar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mulligan as he jumps to the side.
Mulligan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mulligan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dizdar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mulligan as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Dizdar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
