Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felix Cardosa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cardosa lands with a thumping leg kick.
Johnson throws a poor cross that misses
and Cardosa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Jack Johnson has been cut.

Cardosa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cardosa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Johnson.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cardosa jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Johnson is fighting to break Cardosa's control of his arms but Cardosa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Cardosa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cardosa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cardosa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Johnson defends it easily.

Cardosa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cardosa is tightening it up a little... Johnson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Johnson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Johnson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cardosa!
