Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael De Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hedrig Pokousha!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Young ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pokousha moves away.
De Young tries to land a leg kick but Pokousha saw it coming and moves away.
Crunch! De Young slams his shin into Pokousha's torso.
De Young is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pokousha.

De Young gets caught napping as Pokousha dives in and scores a takedown. De Young manages to retain guard.
Pokousha postures up and lands a big shot to De Young's brow.
Pokousha throws a strike but De Young rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pokousha is looking to sweep but instead, De Young has passed into half guard.
De Young winds up and cracks Pokousha with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pokousha keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Pokousha wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Young trying to control from half guard but Pokousha is working away.
De Young with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
De Young is looking to take a break and control but Pokousha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pokousha is looking for a sweep. De Young is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pokousha is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Pokousha wants to get back to full guard but De Young has passed into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Young working away.
Pokousha managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by De Young.
Pokousha tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pokousha is not content to let De Young control the position.
Pokousha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but De Young wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pokousha can't do much from the bottom here.
Pokousha is trying to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as De Young stalls from top position.
Pokousha isn't going anywhere.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pokousha looks to clinch
and De Young counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pokousha fails with a takedown attempt.
De Young scores with a nice strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Pokousha fails to land the takedown.
De Young stuns Pokousha with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pokousha's hands are dropping dangerously low here and De Young connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pokousha scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Young bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pokousha's head.


Pokousha is rocked!
Pokousha fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pokousha is still on wobbly legs! Can De Young finish him?
Raphael De Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Young stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Young wants it to stay on the feet.
Raphael De Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hedrig Pokousha.
Pokousha walks into a stiff left hand from De Young.
De Young throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
De Young tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. De Young moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Pokousha! De Young continues to tee off on Pokousha, landing with a left and a right! De Young connects with a right hand that leaves Pokousha sleeping against the cage! What a finish by De Young!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Raphael De Young!
