Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Felix Akamai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bon Jean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bon Jean acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jean fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akamai manages to avoid it.
Akamai shoots in for a double leg but Jean sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Jean decides to pull guard.
Akamai trying to control the position from guard on top but Jean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Akamai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jean swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Felix Akamai wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Akamai fails with an attempt to clinch.

Akamai takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Akamai closes the distance and clinches up with Jean, looking for a takedown. Akamai pushes Jean against the cage but Jean circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Akamai will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Akamai works the jab nicely.

Jean closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Akamai manages to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Akamai is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jean defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Akamai is looking for a triangle but Jean pushes his legs off easily.

Akamai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jean decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Akamai tries to sprawl but Jean drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Akamai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Akamai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jean tries to stand but Akamai is controlling from the bottom.

Akamai has his foot on Jean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jean works his way back into a safe position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Akamai is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jean has his hands clasped together but Akamai extends an breaks Jean's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Akamai.
