The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barksdale misses with a series of wild punches.
Barksdale stuffs the takedown.
Barksdale jabs Gracie right on the nose. Gracie blinks but takes it well.
Gracie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Barksdale lands a slapping body shot.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barksdale paws at him with a jab and circles away.

It looks like Gregor Gracie has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barksdale misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barksdale slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Barksdale moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Barksdale shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Avon Barksdale. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barksdale lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barksdale is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Barksdale uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gracie has time to react.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Barksdale is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gracie rolls with it to try and escape but Barksdale cranks on the arm and Gracie is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
