Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Hoffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jimmy Hoffer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Marcos!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffer throws a right hand that Marcos ducks under and follows up with a left that Marcos also avoids with ease.
Hoffer scores with a jab.
Hoffer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marcos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hoffer.
Jimmy Hoffer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marcos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Marcos is pushing Hoffer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Marcos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hoffer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Marcos is trying to drag Hoffer to the mat but Hoffer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Marcos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hoffer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hoffer seems a little lost for a moment, as Marcos dominates the positioning.

Marcos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoffer keeps working.

OK we're going to have a standup here. David Marcos hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Marcos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoffer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marcos somewhat.
Jimmy Hoffer is winning the standup battle so far.
Hoffer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hoffer is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Jimmy Hoffer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Marcos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoffer.
Marcos closes the distance and clinches up with Hoffer, looking for a takedown. Marcos pushes Hoffer against the cage but Hoffer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hoffer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hoffer duly obliges.

Hoffer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A close second round but David Marcos will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Marcos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hoffer as he jumps to the side.
Marcos tries to clinch up but Hoffer circles away and keeps his distance.
Marcos swats away the attempt to clinch by Hoffer.

Hoffer shoots in looking for a takedown. Marcos tries to sprawl out of it but Hoffer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marcos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hoffer fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Hoffer. No joy for Marcos on that attempt.
Marcos takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Marcos shoots for a takedown but Hoffer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Marcos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marcos lands in his opponent's guard.

Hoffer is controlling Marcos's posture.
Hoffer is trying to control the position but Marcos postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marcos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hoffer wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hoffer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hoffer wants it to stay on the feet.

Hoffer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Marcos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Marcos is looking to reverse the position.
Marcos avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hoffer.

Hoffer throws an elbow but Marcos slips to the side and avoids it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hoffer content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
