The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a looping right.
Slagman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Slagman sprawls well.
Frank Slagman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slagman tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slagman's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slagman wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
