The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Russell wants to clinch.
Lee Christmas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Christmas connects with a nice looking jab.
Russell takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Russell tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Christmas tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice sprawl there from Christmas as Russell shoots in.
Christmas sizes up Russell with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like James Russell has been cut.

Russell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Christmas was well out of range. Poor timing from Russell.
No joy there for Russell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Russell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Christmas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Christmas throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Russell is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
