Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gab Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Lucky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gab Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Happy Lucky!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lucky gets tackled into the cage by Velasquez. Velasquez maintains the clinch.
Lucky is looking to break free of the clinch but Velasquez has double underhooks.
Velasquez using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lucky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Lucky has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Velasquez is trying to keep an underhook but Lucky manages to get the takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lucky decides to stand and escape the position.

Velasquez closes the distance and clinches.
Velasquez connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Happy Lucky has been cut.

Lucky gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lucky is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Velasquez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Velasquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lucky on the ground.

Lucky postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Velasquez to stand up.

Lucky feints and as Velasquez raises his hands in defense, Lucky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lucky drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lucky jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Velasquez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lucky has passed into half guard!

Lucky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lucky wants to control but Velasquez is keeping him busy.

Lucky in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Velasquez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lucky!
