The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Aoki does a little dance to reset his feet.
Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Aoki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Aoki is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aoki's guard.
Jones won't allow Aoki to sweep him here.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jones throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aoki looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Aoki's head.
Aoki throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Aoki wants to sweep but no luck.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

It looks like Kazuhiro Aoki has been cut.
Aoki tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Aoki looks gassed!
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard.
Jones throwing strikes from guard but Aoki blocks nicely.

Aoki looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

Jones stays in close to Aoki's body and controls the position.
Jones landing some decent shots from guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones distracts Aoki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jones cracks Aoki with a solid left hand.
Jones trying to control but Aoki is working from the bottom.
Jones is really struggling to control Aoki but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jones postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That has opened up Kazuhiro Aoki's cut even more.

Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aoki's head.
Jones stands up over Aoki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Aoki is rocked!

The cut above Kazuhiro Aoki's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kazuhiro Aoki's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
