PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Double Rainbow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Madara Uchiha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rainbow comes to the cage accompanied by Double Rainbow All the Way!!. Madara Uchiha told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Double Rainbow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Madara Uchiha!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uchiha pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rainbow shoots for a double leg takedown but Uchiha sprawls well. He's pushed Rainbow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Uchiha throws a body kick that misses.
Uchiha loads up on a big right hand but Rainbow slips the punch.
Uchiha connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A head kick from Uchiha lands but Rainbow takes it in his stride.
Rainbow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Uchiha is fending him off so far but Rainbow persists. Nope, Uchiha circles away and we're back to standing.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Uchiha.

Rainbow lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Uchiha circles away quickly and effectively.
Rainbow cracks a nice hook into Uchiha's ribs.

Rainbow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Uchiha moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rainbow here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rainbow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uchiha swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Uchiha uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Rainbow closes the distance and clinches up with Uchiha, looking for a takedown. Rainbow pushes Uchiha against the cage but Uchiha circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Uchiha! Rainbow is out on his feet! Uchiha rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Rainbow is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Rainbow is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
