Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neik Hammerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, AVANTASIA-Seven Angels. Hammerlik has chosen Motorhead-Enter Sandman as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Hammerlik misses
and Rua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rua avoids the head kick by Hammerlik.
Hammerlik throws a lazy uppercut
and Rua counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Neik Hammerlik has been cut.
Hammerlik throws a head kick that half lands.
Hammerlik takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hammerlik throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hammerlik fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rua waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hammerlik.
Rua pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hammerlik ducks under a wild hook from Rua.
Hammerlik lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rua's sensitive parts.

Rua ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hammerlik goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hammerlik misses the jab.
Rua swats away the attempt to clinch by Hammerlik.
Neik Hammerlik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rua is defended easily by Hammerlik.
Hammerlik ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away.
Hammerlik lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Rua walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Hammerlik misses with a leg kick
and Rua counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hammerlik preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerlik is adopting a defensive guard.
Hammerlik is looking to stand up but Rua isn't so interested in that idea.

Rua is looking to advance position but Hammerlik has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Rua tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hammerlik gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Hammerlik misses with a left hand
and Rua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hammerlik throws a body kick that misses.
Rua misses the shot to the body.
Rua misses with a takedown
and Hammerlik counters with a body kick.
Rua moves out of range of the strikes.
Hammerlik tries to score with a low kick but Rua moves his leg out of the way.
Rua misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hammerlik.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hammerlik thows a body kick. Rua tries to catch it but that hurt him.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hammerlik.
Hammerlik lands with an overhand left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Neik Hammerlik will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hammerlik tries to work over Rua's front leg with a kick but Rua checks it.
Hammerlik throws a half hearted mid kick.
Rua misses with a body punch
and Hammerlik counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hammerlik misses with a body kick.
Neik Hammerlik seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rua fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice uppercut there from Hammerlik.
Hammerlik looks to throw the jab but Rua is out of range.
Rua misses the jab.

Hammerlik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rua.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hammerlik closes the distance and clinches.
Hammerlik misses with some punches.
Rua wants to take the fight to the mat but Hammerlik manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hammerlik is pressed up against the cage. Rua has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hammerlik down to the mat. Hammerlik avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyoto Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hammerlik tries a head kick but it misses.
Hammerlik pushes Rua up against the cage in a clinch.
Hammerlik lands a nice shot to the body.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Hammerlik in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Rua is trying to trip Hammerlik. He has hold of a leg but Hammerlik is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rua persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Rua stands up over Hammerlik, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hammerlik is still in real trouble! Can Rua finish him?
Rua chips away with some ground and pound.
Hammerlik wants to stand and escape but Rua is having none of it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Hammerlik. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Rua gets to his feet and stands over Hammerlik, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hammerlik felt that one! Rua unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hammerlik from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lyoto Rua!
