Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Omar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan Omar looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryan Omar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luis Romero!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omar moves to clinch but Romero breaks away

so Romero counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omar looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Romero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Romero drops back looking for a leg! Omar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Omar manages to kick Romero off! Romero jumps back into Omar's guard.
Romero stays in close to Omar's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that Romero has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Luis Romero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Romero shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Romero gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Romero clinches with his opponent.

Romero wants the takedown. Omar is fighting it off but Romero persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Omar's guard against the cage.
Omar wants to sweep here but Romero controlling him for the moment.

Omar controls Romero momentarily but Romero frees himself.
Romero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Romero advances position into side control!

Romero decides to stand back up.

Omar gets caught napping as Romero dives in and scores a takedown. Omar manages to retain guard.
Romero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Romero throws a big elbow that misses.
Romero postures up in Omar's guard and throws a big left but Omar blocks it.
Omar can't keep his opponent in guard - Romero advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Romero controlling the pace.
It looks like Romero might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Omar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Romero performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Romero works his way into full mount!

Romero stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Romero closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Omar did well to prevent Romero getting side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luis Romero dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Omar tries to sprawl but Romero drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Romero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Omar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Omar is trying to control but can't.
Omar is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Romero scores with a couple of nice shots.
Luis Romero has got the better of the ground game so far.
Romero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Romero moves into full mount! Omar won't be happy about that!

It looks like Bryan Omar has been cut.

Bryan Omar's cut is getting worse.
Romero takes Omar's back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Romero keeps control of the position as Omar tries to break free.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Romero. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!


Bryan Omar's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Omar is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Romero.
Omar is trying to remain composed but Romero is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Romero is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Romero has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

I would not like to be Omar right now.

Romero is cranking Omar's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Omar! He's tightened the choke and Omar is tapping out!
