Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avon Barksdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barksdale's guard.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Barksdale is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barksdale with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Barksdale looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Barksdale is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barksdale manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Barksdale's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barksdale is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Barksdale wants to control the position but Gracie says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Gracie is nestled in close to Barksdale, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gracie stops Barksdale from getting back to his feet.
Barksdale is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gracie jumps into side control!

Barksdale is looking for a sweep.
Barksdale is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.
Barksdale tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barksdale knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is trying for a kimura here. Barksdale looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gracie wins by kimura!
