PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kriss Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel comes to the cage accompanied by Rev Theory - Hell Yeah. Lesnar has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar walks into a jab.
Angel misses with a head kick.
Angel tries to clinch but Lesnar moves out of range.
Lesnar looks gassed!
Angel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lesnar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Lesnar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Angel's guard.

Lesnar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Angel is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.
Angel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Angel controls Lesnar momentarily but Lesnar frees himself.

Angel has an active guard here but Lesnar has managed to pass into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lesnar in particular looking to stall.

Angel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.

Angel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Angel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesnar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Angel wants to stand up but Lesnar is controlling him.

Lesnar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Angel's half guard.
Angel wants to improve his position but Lesnar is controlling well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Angel is on top in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Kriss Angel wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Angel tries to clinch but Lesnar moves out of range.
Angel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

No joy there for Angel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Angel stalks Lesnar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lesnar's face. Lesnar staggers backwards, shaken.
Lesnar takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Angel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Angel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Angel thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lesnar if he has to take too many more of those.
Angel keeps Lesnar at a distance using the push kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Angel scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Angel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kriss Angel dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Angel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Angel with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Angel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Angel is looking to wear down Lesnar with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Lesnar blocks the body kick.

Angel tries to clinch but Lesnar is having none of it.

Angel scores with a one two! Lesnar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Lesnar drops his hands momentarily and Angel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lesnar takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Angel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Angel is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Angel throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Angel lands with a kick to the temple. Lesnar shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Angel scores with a nice strike.
Lesnar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Angel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lesnar takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Angel scores with a jab to the body.
Angel throws a head kick that half lands.
Lesnar tries for a takedown but Angel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Angel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lesnar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A jab lands there for Angel.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Angel scores with a spinning back kick!
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angel as he jumps to the side.
Angel is looking to clinch but Lesnar is avoiding it.
Lesnar swats away the attempt to clinch by Angel.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Angel tries to clinch but Lesnar is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kriss Angel showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Angel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
