PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Ferrigno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Moonra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moonra has chosen Cosmic Gate - Back 2 the future as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lou Ferrigno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Moonra!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Moonra.
Moonra walks into a straight right hand from Ferrigno.
Moonra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ferrigno swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Moonra tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ferrigno was well out of range. Poor timing from Moonra.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Moonra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Moonra ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ferrigno feints a jab promting Moonra to slip. Ferrigno then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Moonra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ferrigno misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ferrigno throws a right and a left that Moonra avoids nicely.

Moonra throws a jab when Ferrigno was well out of range.
Ferrigno takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ferrigno looks to land a combination but Moonra avoids it well.

Moonra lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ferrigno's sensitive parts.
Ferrigno throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ferrigno looks to land a combination. Moonra sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Moonra dives in and grabs Ferrigno's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferrigno pushes down on Moonra's head and hops out.
Moonra throws a front kick that sends Ferrigno stumbling back into the cage.
Ferrigno looks to land a right hand but Moonra moved out of range.
Moonra avoids a punch combination nicely.
Moonra scores with a jab to the body.
Ferrigno is breathing heavily.
Moonra thuds a left hand into Ferrigno's body.
Moonra lands with a thumping leg kick.

Moonra closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Moonra is chipping away with strikes.

Ferrigno tries to bench press Moonra off him but Moonra keeps the position.
Moonra looks up at the clock and then as Ferrigno takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Moonra smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ferrigno is looking for a sweep. Moonra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moonra works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Moonra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ferrigno tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ferrigno wants to control but Moonra postures up.
Ferrigno is looking for a sweep.
Ferrigno regains half guard.
Ferrigno wants to get back to full guard but Moonra has passed into side control.
Ferrigno is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Moonra off and has taken his back!
Ferrigno is trying to stick to Moonra's back but Moonra is turning into Ferrigno. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ferrigno's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Moonra.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ferrigno throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Moonra escapes and throws Ferrigno's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jacob Moonra dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Horrible takedown by Moonra or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferrigno which made him look bad.
Sloppy strikes from Ferrigno. Those never looked like landing.
Ferrigno throws a lazy right hand but Moonra sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ferrigno looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ferrigno throws a hook but Moonra blocks it.
Lou Ferrigno is winning the standup battle so far.
A slapping leg kick lands for Moonra.
Ferrigno stuffs the takedown.

Moonra looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Ferrigno isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moonra stacks Ferrigno on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moonra!

Ferrigno manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Moonra thows a body kick. Ferrigno tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Moonra connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ferrigno. Ferrigno circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Ferrigno makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ferrigno.

Ferrigno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moonra is aware though and is defending well.
Ferrigno lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Moonra!

Moonra is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ferrigno's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ferrigno's back!

Moonra doesn't have the hooks in and Ferrigno manages to turn into his guard.

I think Moonra has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
