PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rachid Benali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Takedown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mr Takedown told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benali misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Takedown drives through with a takedown into Benali's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Takedown connects with a couple of short punches.

Takedown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Benali is looking for a triangle but Takedown pushes his legs off easily.
Takedown loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Takedown throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Benali works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Takedown distracts Benali with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Takedown slips nicely into half guard.
Takedown is keen to just control but Benali is a slippery customer.
Takedown is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

It looks like Rachid Benali has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takedown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Benali knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Takedown lands a nice short elbow.

Benali is rocked!

Rachid Benali's cut is getting worse.

Takedown is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Benali is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Takedown scores with a couple of nice shots.
Oh Benali is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
