Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jj Mcgarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Diaz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jj Mcgarry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgarry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Diaz scores with a nice right hand.
Mcgarry walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Jj Mcgarry has been cut.
Diaz slaps away a takedown attempt from Mcgarry, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Diaz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Diaz swings for the body but Mcgarry moves out of range.
Diaz missing with a left hand there. Mcgarry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Mcgarry does a little dance to reset his feet.
Diaz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mcgarry on the side of the head.
Diaz throws the left hand but Mcgarry avoids the punch easily.
Mcgarry tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diaz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcgarry somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jj Mcgarry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mcgarry throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz missing with a left hand there. Mcgarry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Mcgarry ducks down to avoid it.
Diaz stuffs the takedown.
Mcgarry shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mcgarry fails to land the takedown.
Nick Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcgarry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mcgarry gets slowly back to his feet.
Diaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mcgarry shoots in but no luck this time.

Mcgarry gets the takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Mcgarry tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well.
Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mcgarry off and has taken his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

I would not like to be Mcgarry right now.
Mcgarry covering up well and avoiding damage.
Diaz missing with strikes.
Diaz has the hooks in. Mcgarry is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Diaz thows a strike but Mcgarry uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Mcgarry as he ends up in Diaz 's guard!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz has his foot on Mcgarry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcgarry works his way back into a safe position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mcgarry is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mcgarry being controlled here momentarily.

Mcgarry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mcgarry, into his guard.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Mcgarry keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Diaz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Diaz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mcgarry keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Diaz looking to pass the guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nick Diaz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
No luck for Mcgarry with that takedown attempt.
Diaz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Diaz dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jj Mcgarry's cut.
That's time! Mcgarry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Diaz lands a nice hook to Mcgarry's body. Mcgarry takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mcgarry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Diaz throws the kick towards the body but Mcgarry avoids it.
Nick Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Mcgarry feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Mcgarry changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Diaz working for a triangle but Mcgarry defends it easily.
Diaz looking to control.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcgarry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mcgarry drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Mcgarry off! Mcgarry jumps back into Diaz's guard.
Mcgarry won't allow Diaz to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Diaz is on top in guard.

Mcgarry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcgarry is keeping the position for now.

Diaz stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Mcgarry throws up his legs and catches Diaz in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Diaz tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Mcgarry! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jj Mcgarry!
