The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morcinek looking to score a takedown here. McGarry is defending well but Morcinek drives through and ends up in McGarry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Morcinek not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
McGarry avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Morcinek seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Morcinek seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McGarry for as long as he can get away with.

McGarry shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Morcinek as he avoids it easily.
McGarry gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Morcinek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McGarry's guard now.

Morcinek working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Morcinek uses his free foot to push down on McGarry's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McGarry.

Morcinek postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have McGarry in real trouble here! The ref calls for McGarry to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
