The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jelani circles away.

Diaz sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Jelani gets a double leg takedown into Diaz's guard.

Jelani got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jelani has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
