And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Rodrigues!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues throws a big shot that misses.
Nice defenses there by Barra.
Barra misses with a kick to the body.
Barra avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Barra scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Barra shoots in for a takedown but Rodrigues shows good takedown defense.
Barra uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rodrigues.
Barra steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rodrigues.
Barra tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Barra takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rodrigues throws a hook but Barra blocks it.
Barra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rodrigues pinned against the cage. Rodrigues gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barra moves out of range of the strikes.

Rodrigues throws the left hand but Barra avoids the punch easily.
Rodrigues rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Barra counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barra.
Barra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodrigues swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rodrigues has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rodrigues is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barra is controlling him.
Barra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rodrigues works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Barra wants to pass the guard but Rodrigues is keeping the position.
Barra postures up in Rodrigues's guard and throws a big left but Rodrigues blocks it.

Barra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rodrigues works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Barra scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Rodrigues keeping moving, preventing Barra from controlling successfully.
Barra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barra won't allow Rodrigues to get back to his feet.
Barra wants to control from the top but Rodrigues keeps moving.
Barra throws an elbow that misses. Rodrigues uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Barra's guard. Nice move by Rodrigues!
Barra will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Rodrigues is looking to stand up but Barra won't let him.

Barra is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rodrigues frees his head nicely. Oh but Barra has switched to an armbar! Rodrigues is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Oswaldo Barra decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
