The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chapman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Li looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Chapman tries to score with some ground and pound. Li controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Chapman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Li has escaped the position, nice work there.
Li manages to get back to half guard.

Chapman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Li wants to improve his position but Chapman is controlling well.

Chapman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Li doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chapman.

Chapman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Li is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chapman, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Li accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chapman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Chapman works his way into full mount!

Li defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chapman.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Chapman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Li is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Li and Chapman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Li can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chapman lands a strong strike to the head of Li. That's dazed him! Chapman looking to finish here. Li is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Chapman lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
