PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sailo Lance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mean Gene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lance comes into the arena with Alive blaring out of the sound system. Mean Gene will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sailo Lance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mean Gene!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lance closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Lance stalks Gene and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gene's face. Gene staggers backwards, shaken.
Lance dives in and grabs Gene's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gene pushes down on Lance's head and hops out.
Gene's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lance under the eye.
Lance shoots for a double leg takedown but Gene sprawls well. He's pushed Lance's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lance shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gene as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sailo Lance. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gene lands a nice looking body shot.
Lance misses with a two punch combination.
Lance is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Lance, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lance takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gene steps in with a hook that catches Lance right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Gene follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Lance looks absolutely devastated.
