Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wooden Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wooden Pencil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wooden Pencil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Franky Young!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Pencil.
Some bone on bone action there as Young checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Young takes a swing at Pencil's ribcage but misses.
Young finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Pencil checks a leg kick.
Pencil throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
An inside leg kick from Pencil misses.

Pencil tries to keep at a distance but Young has taken the fight into the clinch.
Young lands a nice shot to the body.
Pencil wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Young has him pressed against the cage.
Pencil wants to get back to striking at distance but Young won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Young fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Young lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Pencil can't break the clinch.

Young tightens his grip and picks Pencil up, before dumping him to the ground. Pencil manages to land in guard.
Young loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Young trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Young advances to half guard.
Young tries to pass to full mount but Pencil defends it.

Young is taking a breather. Pencil says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Young drops an elbow to the side of Pencil's head.

Young not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Pencil wants to get back to his feet.
Pencil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Young with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Young is nestled in close to Pencil, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young wants to pass the guard but Pencil is defending well.

Young looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Young stalling.
Young's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franky Young wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pencil takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Young walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Young slips under a jab from Pencil.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Young misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Young. Pencil does a little dance to reset his feet.
Young throws a chopping leg kick but Pencil manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Pencil scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Young doesn't seem bothered though.
Pencil throws a low kick, looking for Young's leg but Young calmly moves out of range.
Pencil checks a low kick from Young.
Young fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pencil manages to avoid it.
Pencil scores with a leg kick.
Pencil attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Pencil swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Young is looking to chop away at Pencil's legs.
Pencil misses with a wild body shot.
Pencil lands with a straight right. Young didn't see that one coming.
Pencil misses with a low kick.

Pencil tries to score with a low kick but Young moves his leg out of the way.

Young looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Young trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Young is looking to work some ground and pound but Pencil has wrist control.
Young slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Young content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Young engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Young landing with the ground and pound.
Young wants to control from the top but Pencil keeps moving.
Young scoring with punches to the head and body.
Young pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pencil is keeping the position for now.
Pencil will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franky Young wasn't active enough on the ground.

Young drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Young controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Young trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Franky Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Pencil staying out of range there.
Young throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pencil counters with an inside leg kick.
Pencil keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Young drives through with a takedown into Pencil's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Pencil avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Young throwing strikes from guard but Pencil blocks nicely.
Young is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Young slips nicely into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Young working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Pencil won't allow Young to pass to mount.
Pencil is trying to stand.
Young thows a huge punch but Pencil dodges it nicely.
Young is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Young is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pencil doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Young.
Franky Young is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Young is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Young content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Young is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Wooden Pencil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Young looking to control and managing it successfully.
Young throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Young wants to finish this one by submission but Pencil is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Young.
Young tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Young unloads with some shots from mount but Pencil bucks and avoids them well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Franky Young comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Young winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
